“Thanks for the exposure given to me.”

Ally Maseko is a very determined man. He has managed to sustain his small business and maintain the same number of employees even during this recession.

His company, Dzietele Corporation, manufactures packaging materials; the business is based in an old building in Klipspruit West, Soweto, which Ally converted into fully operational business premises.

He gained basic business skills at The Business Place Kliptown through workshops and consultations, and participated in the Soweto Small Business Awards 2009. He won the competition which gave his business a cash injection of R30,000.

A large percentage of the prize money was ploughed back into the business for marketing purposes and the balance used to buy office equipment. Ongoing contracts with Sanlam, ABSA and DeBeers keep his business sustainable and now he is looking for more marketing exposure to potential clients.
