Mrs Boitumelo Marumo-Mthupha, Manager: The Business Place Botswana
Born the last child of a family of 3 children I was raised and educated in Gaborone and Swaziland. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband, son and daughter. Currently we live both in Botswana and the USA.
My career started in 1986 as a high school Home Economic Teacher in Botswana after graduating from the University of Swaziland. During that period, I developed a great interest in Domestic entrepreneurship and project management. In 1990 I left teaching to pursue that interest and opened a vocational training and rehabilitation center in Lobatse which provided entrepreneurial skills to people with physical disabilities and further assisted them to set up their own businesses. I was requested to facilitate similar services at district level and as a result, left the centre in 1994. Over the next 2 years and I conducted training and mentoring services and business management seminar.
